Day 34

Day 34 of exercising, actually longer but I need to figure that out. I started exercising before I started blogging. I haven't kept up on my blogging. Maybe because I only have one person, my loyal friend Melissa, reading it. But then she's busy with her own blog so I feel like I'm obligating her to read and respond to mine and I don't want my blog to be a chore for someone else. I like to put down my progress, which I have made so much of it!! When I first started I could barely get through a yoga session, now yoga feels like a short stretching segment and not like exercise. I still have my routine of aerobics on Mon-Wed-Fri and Pilate's Tue-Thur and yoga on Saturday. But I have been going 30 min on the treadmill Monday through Friday. So I am up to an hour a day!!! YAY!

I was curious at my measurements on Saturday and did a sneak peek. I measured my left thigh. The first time it measured at 27", in Saturday it measured at 25 1/2" down and inch and a half!!!! I am waiting to measure everything else for a while though. I actually just started aerobics, what, two weeks ago? Before that it was all yoga and Pilate's. I'm so excited though! Brian has gotten better with my workouts. As soon as I put on a workout or step on the treadmill, he gets in the rocking chair or on the couch and watches me. When I do yoga or Pilate's he try's to do the moves with me! lol, it's so cute to watch his short chubby legs try to lift in the air!

It's been a bit better on my back, some of the exercises that hurt my back even last week, feel a lot better now. But I am still having a lot of back pain when I'm laying down in bed to sleep and it wakes me up. My PT said it's take a long time to heal completely, so I'm not going to doom my back gone forever. When I am done on the treadmill it feels like I have no legs or butt! LOL

The kids are sick. Sierra is really sick. She was out of school yesterday and today, she will be out tomorrow for sure and maybe the rest of the week. I took her to the Dr today and she has 2 virus's. She has soo many symptoms. The past two days she has been laying on the couch watching TV and sleeping. She doesn't want to eat either. The Dr said to keep her home from school until she doesn't have a fever any more. I'm frustrated with her though. She came in looked her over quickly, said she was fine and antibiotics wont help her, and pushed me out the door! She cut me off several times when I tried to ask her a question. I never got to ask how much Vitamin C I can safely give her to help her boost her immune system. I want a new Doctor!!!

Anyways, I'm not feeling so well so I am off to bed!

  1. Don't worry about me :). I read because I want to read, not because I feel obligated to. this blog should be for you, and your progress (i'm just nosey!).

Always blog something if you exercise (or write it down in a notebook). It's like they taught us in nursing school--it didn't happen, if it's not documented. If I did something, and then came back 2 days later to document it, it's too late. We just try that much harder not to forget to document it next time. They even put computers in patient rooms so that we could document what we did, ASAP, because it was hard for all of us to find and make the time. It's too hard to go back and remember what you did, so just start from now, and leave the past in the past. You exercised, and that's all that mattered! You don't even have to say a whole lot, if you don't have time. Just say:

    Denise Austin Pilates, 20 minutes

or whatever aerobic video you are doing. See? super easy and fast! you can always go back and edit your posts if you want to add more info, but you don't have time :).

I wish your back was good, cause I would recommend 30 Day Shred. OMG! It's fabulous! it's about 28 mins total, and it's non stop, and you feel like you got a great workout right afterward. I prefer longer workouts, but I really like how this feels. Maybe when your back is stronger (later in the year), you can get it. it's $9 at kmart (maybe it was walmart) and it's 3 levels. you move on when you feel stronger. Jillian Michaels annoys me, but it's still a great video.

sorry about the beastly doctor. I feel so blessed that we are moving and I will never have to see her bowl haircut and non-hand-washing self again! Do you go to her because of Nevada Checkup? or because nothing else is open? This lady from my WIC office told me about her doctor and how awesome he is (he takes nevada checkup), and gave me his number. She said to call monthly until something opens up. If you want the info, I will gladly hand it over to you, since we wont be here much longer. Let me know and I'll email you the info :) (I hope to God that I didn't throw it away!)

  2. oh, and congrats on losing those inches. I think that's way better than losing lbs (I say this just because I'm not losing much--grrrrrrrr)

  3. LOL!!!! Okay, I doubled over laughing when you said "I feel so blessed that we are moving and I will never have to see her bowl haircut and non-hand-washing self again!" That was too good! lol I don't have Nevada check up. I have Blue cross blue shield from Randy's job. I took her as a Dr because she was the only one accepting new patietns at the time and the only one that I could afford to get Brian circumsized with. I should go buy the 30 day shred and save it for later. Yeah, email me the name of the Dr and I can see if he's in my plans network. Thanks!
