Day 3

Today was a busy day for me. I did do my yoga, and love how it feels now! I am anxiously wanting to try the pilates, but am afraid my back isn't up to the challenge yet. For some reason though, after I did the yoga, my stomach/esophagus felt like it was filled with thick oatmeal. I wasn't hungry most of the day. I only had some cereal in the morning until dinner. I also felt a little dizzy when doing the yoga, I don't think I ate enough beofre I jumped into it. Tomorrow I will have a bit more. And since tomorrow is Sunday, I am having my rest day. Even though it's my shopping day and I usually run around some stores all day, so it's not a total loss. I think I will try the pilates, gently, on Monday. See you then!

  1. I love pilates! If you do it right, it's really gentle on your back. FYI, something that I learned in school, the more you strengthen your stomach, the more support your back will have. The average person doesn't know that their back pain is related to weak stomach muscles (I keep trying to tell my hubby this but he wont listen!).

I think you'll really like pilates (at least I hope you do, cause I love it!)

  2. I didn't know Pilates was gentle on the back! Yeah, I love yoga and Pilates, I did them both all the time. Yes, I did learn from my PT that strong stomach muscles help support your back and spine and that is the main problem of back pain. I have weak stomach muscles from having the kids, that's one part of my back pain. The other is my posture with my hips is bad. My spine is curved like I'm sticking my butt out, that's the only way I know how to explain it. And so it pinches the nerves in my back, and in response, my muscles tighten and strain. I have to take it easy, but my ultimate cure is exersising and strengthening my muscles, while correcting my spine posture. I need deep tissue work too, but my insurance wont pay for more PT until another year (from August 08). I can't wait to go back to him!
